Ernest Angley is a Christian Evangelist. His ministries touched millions of viewers through television broadcasting and internet streaming. Almost one hundred years old, Pastor Angley was adamant that his memorial look exactly like his wife’s memorial. Her monument was built in the early seventies of marble from an extremely specific location.
The Angley family requested marble from the Ravaccione quarrying area located at the top of the Torano Valley in Carrara, Italy. This area is known for having marble with more quartz in its make-up. Michelangelo, the famous sculptor, favored marble from this area because of the sparkle of quartz in the marble.
Prior to Pastor Angley’s passing, March of 2021, his foundation contacted Missy West, West Memorials to help with the creation of the large memorial project.
Creating an exact duplicate of a monument so extravagant opened the door to use special 3D imaging. With the help of our son, Jack, and his skills in industrial engineering, the imaging of the ledger and of the statue provided an exact duplication of the existing memorial. We interviewed three digital scanning services in Ohio to find the best fit for the model needed.

The delicate details of the ledger and the statue were converted to a stereolithographic file and emailed to our carver in Italy. With the file, a CNC machine began the first cutting of the pieces of marble. The ledger and the statue were cut with unbelievable precision. With the help of a master Italian carver, the finer detailed elements of the carving were refined to perfection to look like the original monument.
In October 2022, with the foundation in place, installation of the ledger and the statue went as smoothly as planned. Side by side with his wife, the new monument looked exactly alike. Ernest Angley’s memorial is located at Grace Cathedral in Akron, OH.
