From Urn to Monument: Guiding Families Toward Permanent Placement

Millions of families keep cremated remains at home, often because they are unaware of their permanent placement and memorialization options or are unsure how to take the next step.
This MBNA webinar will help monument professionals approach these families with empathy rather than pressure. Presenters Honnalora Hubbard and Garrett Wilson of Coldspring will introduce the H.E.A.R.T. Method, a practical framework for reconnecting cremation conversations to a loved one’s life, story and legacy. Attendees will also learn about free year-round marketing and training resources and how to use National Cremation Placement Day on October 17 to educate families, build community partnerships and encourage meaningful remembrance.
Learning Objectives:
By the end of the webinar, participants should be able to:
• Explain why permanent placement and memorialization matter to families.
• Utilize purpose-based conversations about cremation by using the five steps of the H.E.A.R.T. Method.
• Locate and use the free training, marketing and promotional resources available to them to plan a National Cremation Placement Day activity for the third Saturday in October.
Our Speakers:
Honnalora Hubbard is a regional sales manager for Coldspring, serving North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. Drawing on her family background in funeral service and her experience in the deathcare profession, she helps memorial professionals use storytelling and purpose-based conversations to guide families toward permanent memorialization.
Garrett Wilson is the Regional Sales Manager of the Midwest. He has been with Coldspring for the last 20 years starting as a wire saw technician in 2026.

Discover how artificial intelligence can support your monument business through this four-part webinar series designed exclusively for MBNA members. Developed specifically for the monument industry, each session combines practical instruction with live demonstrations to help you confidently apply AI in your business.
Topics include AI fundamentals and security, monument design, business operations and communication, and marketing. Whether you’re new to AI or looking to expand your skills, you’ll leave with practical tools and workflows you can put to use right away.
All sessions will be recorded and made available to registered participants.
Facilitator: Mike Lannen, Founder of Eternity, is a nationally recognized speaker on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.
Cost: Registration is $200 per person and includes access to all four 90-minute live sessions, as well as the session recordings.

2026 Monument Builders of Carolinas

The EGA Training Institute - Monument Retailers Course 2026
Join the Elberton Granite Association in Elberton, GA from October 12-15, 2026 for a four-day hands-on training course for monument retailers covering industry history, safety, tours, demonstrations, and classroom instruction. Participants will gain practical knowledge of quarry operations, product handling, and retail best practices.
Cost: $450 (payment required to EGA to register)
