Summit Memorials was honored in the Large Monument category. The 7’8” tall, 8’ long All Steeled Georgia Gray granite Hunter family monument was crafted by Kenneth Noon. After touring historic cemeteries in the United States and Europe, the Hunters looked for a memorialist able to match old-time craftsmanship skills with modern-day equipment capabilities. The Summit Memorials team took approximately six months to complete “one of the most challenging but rewarding memorials.”

Founded in 1995, the family-owned business Summit Memorials of Akron, Ohio, stands out with its fully customizable memorial and monument designs. They believe that memorials should tell a story and reflect the life of the deceased. The customization process includes multiple renderings, a final selection, on-site carving, and more to obtain these personalized and meaningful monuments.
